Just to share some information with all of you. An unsightly, however, amazing occurrence that happened in the small pond at Nottingham Park was a fish kill due to the warm water/low oxygen. As I was infomed , when the water temperatures get above 85 deg. it does not hold enough oygen for the fish to survive.
There are literally hundreds of fish floating in the pond. The amazing part is the size of some of the fish. There were 8 Crappies over 14 inches, one american eel about 3 feet long, and the biggest largemouth bass I have ever seen in person. (7 lbs 3 oz dead)!!!!. All of this from a small pond that most people would not look twice at to fish.
Key indicator species ( frogs, turtles and living fish) sighted in the pond means that this was not caused by pollution.
Makes me wonder what's swimming in the ponds that I pass by on my daily commute.

I look at every pond on my comute thinking about fish everyday. Too bad most are private. Someone should market signs for "catch and release open to public".
