Does anybody have any experience fishing the Potomac river below DC around Virginia? I am going after blue catfish in October with a charter service called Indian Head Charters. Supposed to be fishing for blues fifty pounds and above. Hope to get into some, should be a good time.

Don't have any info but sounds like a lot of fun. How much does a charter for blues cost if you don't mind me asking?

What kind of info are you looking for. I use to fish it but haven't been down in a few years.

takem, the cost of the trip was very reasonable at $300 for four of us for 8-10 hours. This includes all rods, reels, bait and licensing for three people. I had to get a Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing license, but that came with my license for my boat for fishing the Susky flats. Midnite, I was just wondering about the chances of catching something in the fifty pound class. I haven't caught a catty that big since leaving Arizona. 62lb flathead is my biggest from the Colorado. Hoping to get into something anyway.

I've heard there are some big blues in the Potomac River but that's about all I know about it, the James River in Virginia is supposed to be a great Blue Cat river from what I have read on the web. good luck and let us know how you do.
