I'M going to blue marsh on Thursday with my uncle to fish and run the outboard, and i wanted to know how the smallmouth population is on blue marsh, Ive never caught one, and Ive tried really hard to find them in marsh creek and Scott's run, but no luck, so I'm looking to get one at blue marsh. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you read ArizonaAnglers thread on here and EPFR.net some guys were giving up some basic tips on fishing at BM. Mostly seems like you wanna find the wood and find some dropoffs and throw some crank baits at depth or plastics in the structure. Never even caught a bass a blue marsh so I'm no help other than that!

My son caught a nice one bouncing a jig down the rock faces on a previous trip. No smallies last weekend, but I finally scored on the Lgmouth up there. Only took 4 or 5 trips catching nothing but 1 crappy up there to finally find them.

most of my luck was on a silver and blue rattle trap 1/2 oz for both smallies and largemouth

what ramp are you launching from? anyways if you are looking for wood go up towards the no wake area and turn left up the spring creek arm there are alot of stumps right as you enter on the northern side and further up there is a whloe line of them along the southern shore. also try the deeper points on the main lake. hint try crayfish lures.

I dont know what ramp were launching form, but my uncle said something about a smallmouth place that he had heard about thats near the ramp were launching from, thanks for all the tips, i will defiently try those baits out, he said i should have some jigs on to pitch into wood, and to have a skipping bait, im gonna try crankbaits, shakeys as well, pretty much everything till i hopefully catch something. I wil post pictures if i catch anything.

They are there... fish the deep cliff faces. I throw a small jig hit the cliff bounce it down the face. You may have to make lots of casts but you should manage a few. I'm sure cranks and other baits will work too but then it will help to cast parallel to the rocks instead of 90' degrees.
You will have a much better chance with the SM's fishing Blue Marsh over Marsh Creek or Scotts. Kinda smallish but semi plentiful once you get it dialed in.
Good Luck
