There have been times when manufacuters have produced products that were not exactly what the company was originally known for. See if you know what company made these items
1. A major gun company one time made razor blades, they sold them for 12 for 25 cents. who was it?
2. A tackle company transitioned from fishing tackle to garden tools, who was this?
3. A reel manufacturer quit making fishing reels and switched to power tools, who was this?
4. Another gun company expanded it line to include ice skates and base ball mitts as well as lot of other products. Who is it?
5. A fishing rod company quit making fishing rods to made golf clubs. Who was this?
6. Another company called Zero Hour Bomb Co. started making a fishing product, is known today as what?
How many can you name and do you know of any others?

Here's the answers: 1. Marlin Firearms made double edge (anybody remember them?) razor blades, in its long history of products. 2. American Fork and Hoe, better known as True Temper, were best known form there steel fishing rods. 3. Known nowdays for making power tools, like cordless screwdrivers, Ryobi started out making spinning reels for the US market, I believe in the early 80's. 4. Winchester had a huge selection of items listed in there 1926-27 catalog including, paint, flashlites, garden tools, roller skates, jock straps, punching bags, basket balls, base balls, kitchen knives, as well as sportsmens knives, scissors, lawn mowers, lots of tools, rods reels and lures,as well as guns and ammo. 5. One of the best selling rods in our store, in the 80's, was the Kunnan Rod Co. These rods were designed by a former wholesale distributor located in upstate Pa. The plant that made these rods, I believe was in Korea, burn't to the ground, and the company decided not to continue the production of fishing rods, but instead switched to golf clubs. 7. Zero Hour Bomb Co. was a contractor for the armed forces during the war (WWII, the big one). After the war, demand for its product diminished and they decided to make products for the returning GI's under the name Zebco. Still going strong today 50+ years later.

Ha, yeah, I remember double edged razors. I never used one, but remember my dad using them.
I knew the Zebco one. Those other ones are interesting.
Happy Holidays Gordons!
