For those that know me and those that are interested I don't keep 50 fish everytime out. I keep 0 fish in the summer months. And a lot of days throw back way more then I keep. Of the local lakes that I have been fishing for over 30 years I believe I have learned the cycle of the fish population. Or at least I like to think so. Those that have been fishing Marsh Creek for many years know what I'm talking about. After the perch boom at Marsh back in the day I went a few years where I threw back all the perch I caught. Because I knew the populaion was hurt. Yes this fall I did keep a lot of perch but also threw 100's of crappie back into the lake.

Hi there sounds like you been reading a post from EPFR and unless some fish are not taken those fish will never reach any size and there is only a few of the anglers know where to fish for the bigger fishso you are not going to hurt Marsh Creek keep up the good work

As Hawgcatcher stated he doesnt keep his limit almost every time out, besides from what I see he`s using good management by keeping smaller fish an releasing the bigger ones and also eating what he catches. You should be more concerned about certain induviduals that keep every single fish that they catch regardless if its in season or its size. Go check out Struble in the warmer months and you will see what im talking about. Many dont even have a license. Just my 2 cents.

I completely respect your approach and fully support the way you fish. Just wish others were had the same big picture view of fishing our local lakes like you do. That's just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents... i personally sat beside hawgcatcher and caught my share of fish like him ( just not as many ) i'm still learning the ice fishing skills but i really dont see a problem keeping fish to take home and eat. like him i dont keep them in the summer and plan on having a fish fry with some friends with what we kept. the crappie population in struble is in good shape and it's not like he kept 50 a day for a week straight although he probably could have. Any way see ya out there again hawgcatcher and next time we will have to go after some bass.
