My friend fishing the fly project at French Creek right now and says you can fish as long as your not using bait. A Park Ranger talked to him and said he can fish as long as he's flyfishing. Does that go for any stream as long as all fish are placed back in the water immediately? I looked on their website but I didn't see anything on it.

There are special "Delayed Harvest" areas of streams that I know you are allowed to fish, but I do not believe that fishing in "Approved Trout Waters" before 8am on Saturday the 29th would be a good idea. These streams are closed to all fishing until opening day as far as I know. Might result in a decent fine if you get nabbed.

Yeah I wouldn't do that - I never do anything illegal, I'm actually planning on going to school to become a game warden.
I've seen on their site delayed harvest on many streams but never knew what it actually meant and never really payed attention to it. I guess my buddy was fishing the delayed harvest or the fly project and that's why he was able to do that.
Thanks

Fisherman,
The 1.5 mile section of French creek around hollow rd is fly fishing only. Their are a hand full of these areas around PA. These are no kill zones. Delayed harvest means artificial only and you CAN keep 3 fish 15" from Memorial day to labor day. The 1 mile section below the dam on Ridley creek is also fly fishing only.
