I shot two quillbacks in the schuylkill tonight along with 19 carp. I did not know there were quillbacks around here. Pretty cool. Saw a ton of channel cats cruising the shallows.

Its in the carp family. Heres the description: The quillback has a stout body that looks like half carp and half sucker. The sucker-like mouth is on the underside of the head. The back is arched and the lateral line is nearly straight. Quillback are silvery on the sides and have a white belly.

Looks like you had an o.k. night. I'm going to assume that quillbacks aren't good table fare. How long have you been bowfishing? All of your shots look pretty consistent for placement.

Those carp you are calling Quill back, are actually Buffalo Carp, thats there real name if you wanna call it that, they are all over the place above Blackrock dam, we usually shoot 10-15 of them a night some times, havent been out "force feeding fiberglass" though in about a month but it was pretty hot end of august and begining of sept. The quills and buffalo are in the same subspecies though so i guess you could have seen them, but the picture on the post is of a Smallmouth Buffalo

wow you shot all those fish!! Thats awsome!! TO HAVE A PICTURE OF A GARBAGE CAN FULL OF FISH, Is something to be real proud of. Do you drive around to all your friends to show them how you did?, and to think i thought fishing with a rod and reel was a challange, you have went to the next level. You are what a true sportsman should be. You are my hero. Your name should be capt.
