Been catching huge Channel Catfish up to 12 LB. in the Elk River in case anyone is inerested. Using cut Herring for bait and the "Honey Hole" is green buoy #15 at mouth of Bohemia River in 40 ft. of water along the channel edge. Herring can be purchased at Herb's Tackle in Northeast on the way down. Morning incoming tide is most productive and they put up a "whale" of a fight. Nice clean fish and excellent table fare. Launch out of Turkey Point---very nice launch.

The Elk's always been a good catfish river. Been going there for years now, a buddy has a place right on the river in Northeast Heights. His son got a 35" 22 pounder last year.

Nice fish! Largest one I have taken was 16 LB last June. I have been catching as many as 14 each trip with the smallest weighing in at 5 LB. At nearly $6 per pound it comes close to covering the expense of the day. They will be leaving the deep water and going to the spawning beds when the water temp. reaches 70 - 72 deg. usually near the end of June so now is the time to catch them
