I went down trout fishing to the Skippack from 7am-8pm Thursday. I caught all of my fish on artificial, nothing on live bait. I used Joe Fly's and caught a few on Trout Magnets. Unfortionatly I lost 3 decent fish over 15 inches. Most of the trout I caught were in the range of 7-9 inches and I caught two that were a jokes 3 and 5 inches. I basically had the whole stream to myself and I'm not going to complain about that especially catching them left and right. All fish were released. Didn't they promise bigger and better trout all over 12 inches this year but less stocked? Pfft. To me it's that same just not as many fish. I walked down today to see how high the water was and it was pretty bad. In the parking lot there was still pools of water with a few trout trapped in them because the water receded back into the stream. I'll probably go down later when the pools get smaller and toss them back into the stream since they won't survive long there. I want to get back out there fishing. I'll be heading up to State College to Penn's Creek to do some Flyfishing and I'll post a report later on that. Generally, how long does it take for flood waters to go back to normal or at least where it's fishable? 24 hours? I'm hoping to be out there early Saturday morning at sunrise.

I headed down again Saturday night 6-7:30. Suprisingly caught 5 rainbows and a smallmouth bass on minnows even though the water was still high and muddy. Nothing of any size or worth mentioning.
I'm leaving for Penn's Creek for some Flyfishing and perhaps I'll get catch a nice wild trout. I know that theres a few hatches coming off so it should be some decent fishing.

I went down with my brother in law yesterday fly fishing. Still plenty of trout in the holes with nobody down there. It's just to bad that it's just about impossible for the stream to have holdovers because it warms up to much in the summer. The trout usually swim downstream and get eaten by muskie and bass waiting where the Skippack and Perkiomen meet.
Trout were eating terrestrials (ants and beatles) and also an assortment of dry flys. I lost a few biggies and saw a few. I will probably go down again just about every day this week. I'm always catch and release unless it's big.
I will also be heading up to Penn's Creek again for another go at some wild trout. There is suppose to be a few good hatches starting now lasting a few weeks. I'll try to get some more pictures then I got last time.
