;D Well thanks to BigDaveE guiding me towards a great spot, I finally made it to the river to catch some flatheads. First night was kind of a trial without knowing what to expect, went to the creek and plucked a few small gills and 'chub' for bait. Got there a little late, just as it was getting dark (but still within that best time) threw out, and before my buddy could even hook up his line, my baitrunner started screaming off the spool. Pulled in a hefty fish, probably around 30". Ended up being the only one that night, as we didnt stay too much longer! Next night took the lady down (last night) caught some more bluegills for bait, and fished for probably 2 hours, caught 2 good ones, hers was bigger as they always are lol. And missed probably half a dozen strikes because I was anxious. Just amazing the size and power of these fish, I was loving every minute of it. Even when one when ballistic on me soaking me to the bone when I tried to grab him up haha!!!! edit: Heres a pic of the first one, poor quality as always because I have no digital images, so its a picture of a picture.

arizonaangler, the Susquehanna River seems to have a growing population of flat heads also, last fall I heard some were being caught below Safe Harbor Dam and that some of them were in the 20lb class. 99situner, nice fish.
