I know there is wild trout in there, but is it strictly flyfishing only, or is there certain sections where it isn't?
Many thanks! ;D

In the rules and regs book valley creek is listed under 'catch and release all tackle'. Now I was under the impression it was entirely fly fishing only, but I may be wrong. I think the best thing to do, is bring your fly rod and patience (I hear the fish are pretty wise there) and read signs posted on the trees. It also says Beware that Valley Forge park has imposed special biat regulations, check local posters.

Do you know if that restriction applies to the section of Valley creek in the Exton area?

love2fish, that is West Valley Creek you are asking about, they are 2 different creeks, West Valley Creek does have a Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only section though, it's 1.2 miles long and runs from the mouth of Colebrook Run downstream to about 0.25 mile below the railroad tunnel. Hope this helps.

Special bait regulations?
I'm not sure if that means its only live or artificial lures. I guess the best thing right now is to take a ride down and find out what sections are flyfishing and what sections are spincast and look at the signs posted on the trees. This stream seems to have a lot of regulations and restrictions.

Yea, all the book says is special bait regulations, which are created by the park itself is how it sounds, or maybe just within the parks limits. I'm going to assume that it is either like a delayed harvest with artificials only, or strictly fly fishing. I am positive it is a no kill zone, catch and release only, at least within the park.
West valley does have a delayed harvest area, its pretty much all along clovermill rd until the overpass of rt 30. Its a great creek with a lot of fish, but picky fish at that. Last time I was there the delayed harvest was loaded and I only caught a few, many times thought I have fished the regular sections with bait. One night in particular a friend and I went down and between us caught and released probably 20 a piece! It is a small creek though, with deep cut banks, water usually runs really clear making it hard to fool some that have spent any time in the water.
