Got out to the lake early this morning hoping to catch the "morning bite". There were about six or seven boats milling around the ramp at 6am. Fished the lower end of the lake by the huge flat and only managed two 14 inchers on a slash bait. Didn't get another bite all day. I probably need to get back to the "other" lake and see what's going on there.

I don't think Chambers is the lake it once was. The past two years ( not including this- I have not fished it yet this year ) have been very poor to me and some others that I know. I fished it at least 6 times each in the past two years. Haven't gotten a decent pickerel or bass in that time. Too much pressure for such a small lake, IMO.

Fished Chambers this past Thursday the 28th. Caught 4, 3 on black 4" Senkos and 1 on a yellow spinnerbait. The ones on senko's were in the 12" range and the spinnerbait was 3 pound 2 ounces, all were released. We are waiting on the fish commisson to schedule there boat to sink the porcupine cribs, they are all set to go, and should contribute greatly to the quality of fish in the lake. This lake has a very good population of healthy bass, and the water quality is very good. Please, when fishing here put your trash in the proper containers.

Fished Tuesday night on the 10th, launched around 7:30 pm and fished till 2 am. My partner and I caught and released 18 bass and 2 pickerals. All were between 11" and 14" with a smallie that went 15 3/4 ". Most action occured after the sun went down around the dam area on black senko's. 3 of the bass were caught on the flats as well as the 2 pickerals which were taken on spinnerbaits. This lake has alot of potential with a good stock of young fish, don't be fooled, there are big bass but most of them were picked up on the fish finder at the deep areas of the lake. Last October I took a 5 lb + out in the middle on a chatterbait. Still waiting on the fish commision boat to plant those porcupine cribs, when I find out a date, I will post it. Till then tight lines and practice good sportsmanship.

OMR, do you still see or hear of pickerel being caught there? I never caught one there but I have seen a nice one caught. I wish we could ice fish chambers. We go there as soon as the ice melts and tear up the crappie in deep water. I read that there was trout stocked there a few years back. I was wondering if anyone has heard of any being caught.
