I usually fish Marsh creek early morning for bass on the shoreline. I haven't had much luck this year at Marsh and was looking for something different. I fish the Hibernia pond with my small boys all the time, but have never been to Chambers. What kind of luck will I get early morning on the bank there? Plus, are you allowed to fish even though the park isn't open and where would I go to park??
I am prone to use carolina & texas rigs with power worms also crank baits, and thoughts on that at Chambers?

I havent been to chambers much but i have caught a few from the road bed on the Martins Corner side of the lake. Caught them on carolina rigs and senkos, earlier this summer caught one about 4 1/2 to 5 lbs and a few smaller ones with my boys standing on the road bed and fan casting all around it. My oldest boy (10) lost another real big one, all in all a productive hour and a half of fishing. The point to the right of the road bed usually has some grass on it and the bass are really in there some times, hope that helps and good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions ranger. Do you know if I am able to park in the main lot around 5:30-6:00 am or do I have to park somewhere else? Also, I've never been to Chambers, so I don't know where the Martin's corner side would be? Give me some direction from the main lot. Thanks.

You can park at the main lot that early. The martins corner side is on the other side of the lake. depending on where you are coming from do you know where the entrance to hibernia park is not the one with the lion head gates but the other one ? If so go past the entrance and go to the first stop sign and make a left the road dead ends in to the lake and there is parking right near the gate.

Thanks again Ranger, I do know where the other entrance is so I'll just go the way you suggested. Again, thank you for all your help.

Ranger, had a great day- thanks! I started at 5:30 sat. morning. Starting catching 3 smaller LM Bass on the ramp. About 7:00 am (sunrise) moved over to the bank closer to the dam and caught a very large LM bass. I lost him though when I went to pull him, he was by my feet, and my line broke off my hook. He took off and that was that, but again he was at least 2-1/2 to 3 pounder-maybe more. All in all I enjoyed Chambers, and a much needed break from Marsh. I should be back there this weekend.
