Sorry for the delay in the report guys. It's been a little bit hectic around the house lately...
Got out to Chambers on Sunday morning. We were the first boat at approx 5:30am.
Started probing the area to the right of the ramp with a black buzz to see if anybody had interest. I manged a haul in a nice size pickeral that was about 16".
We decided to head to the shallow end to see if we could catch some feeders and boy did we ever! We each had a dink by the time we got to the bottom of the lake and decided to check out the area where the creek flows in on the norh side. We pulled 6 LM out there. None were of any size, but it was fun to pull three in on the first three casts up in to the creek using a Lake Fork Craw Tube, my partner was tossing a white spinner bait. On a side note, as we were working the edges of that shallow creek area heading in, we spooked an extemely and I say EXTREMELY large Tiger that was hiding under some matted weeds. This big boy in my estimation was at well over 36". He bolted when the boat was right beside him. It practically scared my partner off the back...lol
All in all it was a good day. We worked up the park side of the lake and picked a few here and there. The best action of the day was definitely along the dam and up in the corner of the dam by the parking lot. I expected to see more smallies in that section, but we only had one. Everything else was LM and pickeral.
The biggest LM of the day came in at 14". There was nothing huge to report, but any day that I put fish in the boat is a good day in my book!
Tight lines guys!
