Temps are getting there, and the water is just starting to freeze. Don't know if there is any support left here, but would be great if there is.
Heard guys are out fishing scotts run today, and the ice that formed in carpenters has since broken up.
The next 2 weeks looks promising for building something, even if it's short lived. If you're still active and checking, chime in. Let's start something back up

I checked Struble last Thursday, it was locked up with 2+ inches of ice. It should continue to grow with this recent freeze we are getting, my concern is the storm that is brewing for tonight ( Sunday ) doesn't destroy it. Night temperatures for next week will be close to or below freezing. Fingers crossed, hoping to get out next week.

Thanks for the report iceman! I went by struble last Saturday and it was wide open except for edge ice 20 to 30 feet from the shoreline. Wasn't expecting much, was just hopeful. If the rain doesn't kill the ice, it may just help it build.
The next 2 weeks looks good for building some slow ice. We'll see what happens. I'll check back in later this week when I get back out to look again

Scotts Run Lake gates closed as of today Jan 19, 2022. Road looks snow covered. 1:00 Pm. No idea why?

I been on the ice 4 times since Sunday at Struble. most spots have been 4 inches. Shoreline opened up as of Tuesday and access has been limited to the closest opening to the right of the ramp, little spotty but doable. Next week's deep freeze will lock it back up.

Thanks for the report iceman, much appreciated! May have to try and get out for a couple hours this weekend.
The report of ice on marsh has me intrigued. Carpenters is a long walk to be disappointed though. Still, ill probably check it Saturday and report back what I find
