Date: Thursday, Oct 14th 2021 Time: 10 am to 4:30 pm Weather: Mostly sunny, high reach 80 degrees, very little wind
very few fishermen on the lake and minimal water activity.
Gear: Shimano Stradic 1000 and 2500 both on St Croix med power fast action rods (5'6 and 6') also a Shimano Curado 200 7.0:1 on a Basspro Bionic Blade fast action 6'6" rod
lures: 2 & 3" floating minnow sub surface crankbaits, 1/4 oz white spinner bait and different color #2 Mepps inline spinners (silver, gold and copper)
We caught 67 fish (my friend 35 and I caught 32) Bass (mostly 10 to 14"), Yellow Perch (mostly 8 to 12"). we also caught a few dink sunfish. Best was I was able to catch a 25"+ Tiger Muskie.
We started at the Lyndell ramp and fished the shoreline to the left up to the bridge, back to the big rock and then all the way around to the Day Use area. Once we made it to the Day Use area it was working on 4:30 so we went straight back across the lake to the Lyndell ramp.
I havent had a day this good on this lake in a long time.

It was a very surprising outing. I never expected such a day. Looking forward to seeing how the next outing goes. Good or bad, I'm on the water...

congrats on the great day!!! sounds like you were using mostly small rigs/tackle. what worked the best for you? also, sounds like you covered a lot of water- what was the general clarity of the water and was there any productive grass?

The #2 gold blade Mepps, I'd say caught the most fish per cast. Water clarity was about 24". Better in some locations. we hit weeds here and there, however we caught the majority of the fish in, around and near rocks.
