Hello All- I’ve heard talk about people fishing the spillway/trailrace area, but have never done so myself, or even hiked up there. Can you actually fish up along there? Is it any good? How about at this time of year?
Thanks

It used to be good because it used to be difficult to access. Since they put the parking area at the trailhead off of Dorlan Mill road a few years ago it has been terrible. I cant remember the last time that I went there where I didn't see people fishing both below the falls (midway through the creek) and the tailrace itself. I have not caught a decent fish out of there in a few years. It is a tiny area of water, maybe 1 mile long in total with less than half being decent water to hold fish. I still check it out on my way to fish the main lake...just did this past weekend, but nothing going on in there for some time other than panfish and the occasional dink bass. I wish they never put the parking place in at the trailhead.

I have to agree w Tomb. It's something to do and once in awhile I get a bass there but unless you're into collecting ticks on most days it's not really worth the hassle.

Tomb/sgrim- Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. Perhaps I'll take a walk up there just to explore, but will keep my hopes in check. Thanks, again.
