Hooked up with my buddy this morning for a chilly/wet couple of hours in his boat. Hadn't gone far and he got 1 borderline keeper - no other bites at that spot. He got 2 at the next spot 1 dink and another borderline keeper. 3rd spot my turn... almost had something decent on but my braid snapped. First thought my knot failed between the braid and my leader but no. 4th spot I had a 35-40" musky decide he liked my crankbait better than me . 5th spot we both got nice keeper bass. A few more dinks for my buddy and a few sunnies decided to hit my 4" Kieteck(?) swimbait at a few more stops till we called it on account of Brrr !

At least you got a few fish to make up for the weather. To bad you didn't get the musky in and keep your crankbait though.

Have been over several times since but only shore fishing. Have not been doing real good striking out without any hits most mornings. Definitely was doing better last year this time maybe due to last years low water IDK. Went over today and no signs of life on the surface at all - guess the cool weather put the alewives down - tried anyway. Had two good hits both came unbuttoned #2(smallie) was kind enough to jump and show off his 4lb body ... LOL. I have plans for a file on that set of hooks later.. seem sharp but they are rather thick.
There seemed to be something going on off one of the points I could see 3-4 boats working the area pretty good to far to see any catching though.
