Used to be a great lake to catch monster pickerel. Reports of sizable ones are scarce these days which is a shame. Unfortunately I think most of the bigguns caught wind up being kept and the small lake doesn't seem to be able to keep up.

Honestly; it's still a great lake for large pickerel. If you keep your eye on the Chambers Lake forum you'll see multiple trophy pickerel pulled out of the lake each season. My largest was 27" and there's many other guys that catch them this size in there as well. Typically early Spring and in the Fall is when you start hearing about guys catching them. So they are in there; they just bury themselves in all of the weed growth down in the stump field over the summer; although they also to sit out in the 7-8' flat out from the stumpfield as well.

Ok, maybe it is just my poor luck then. I have not seen one there in a few years. I used to average 2 or 3 per trip. Pulled some of the biggest pickerel of my life out of there.

I used to catch pickerel in Lake Ontario as a kid, I have never seen one look like that. I wonder what the difference is? The ones we caught were much darker with longer narrower beaks.
