My father likes fishing Octoraro, and while I prefer Chambers, I wanted to spend the day with my father, so we ventured down to Octoraro.
I fished the little cove at the parking area on 472, he worked the bridge. I hit one sub pound LMB in some flooded weeds. He got skunked.
We moved to the boat launch parking lot, I hit an even smaller LMB right off the dock. He pulled two Sunnies off the rip-rap. I fished the culvert on the opposite side of the road from the parking lot, hit two Sunnies, including a nice chunky one. I also got a small White Perch, which are fairly new in the lake.
We went down to the covered bridge to look. Got a peak into someone's cooler, nice sized Catfish and White Perch, all caught on chicken liver. Didn't fish, as we needed to head home.
All-in-all, one of the better days I've spent on Octoraro. I will say that there were fewer boats than what you see on Chambers, and considering the size difference between the lakes, there SHOULD be more and larger fish in Octoraro, but I've not seen them.

Had some time yesterday and went back to the covered bridge, technically this isn't in the lake anymore, but WOW. right in the spill pool are both LMBs and SMBs. Only caught little guys, but the diversity of that pool was impressive, with both Bass species, Rock Bass, White Perch, Yellow Perch, Catfish, Chub...you name a fish and it seemed like you could catch it there. Most fun was playing chunky (over 12 inch!) rock bass out of that pool and the one down below the bridge.
