There is a lake I found on Google Maps that looks promising, a little north of Concordville, but there are no reports online, besides that its a public place. I think it would be a fun adventure no the less if its not good for fishing, but I was wondering if anyone has ever fished there, or knows anything about it.

Theres so many great neighborhood ponds in chester county that we fished when we were kids. We fished them all summer long. Constantly got talked to and yelled at by that one guy who hates seeing kids outside having fun. Every neighborhood has one or two of those idiots. We assumed that's just what old people do. Now I'm in my mid thirties and I can't imagine yelling at kids for fishing the neighborhood pond. Maybe I'm not old enough yet. I guess that comes later in life. Ha

Maybe the owner of the lake sees a potential lawsuit, should one of the kids having fun accidentally falls in and..........

It was never an owner. Just nosy neighbors. One would yell at us for riding bikes too fast. Same logic I guess.

Brinton Lake has been private for as long as I can remember. In my early teens I attempted to fish it and was promptly given the bum's rush. That was back in the mid '80s. Now you would probably be shot on sight just for looking at it. Do not go by online "sites" like Hookandbullett. Without any real info. it will just have the default as "open to the public".
Google Earth may show a lot of nice looking pieces of water in this area. I can absolutely 100% guarantee that I have probably looked into each and every one within a 20 mile radius of West Chester. Any of the few of these that are not posted "No Trespassing" are either infested with stunted bass or just have panfish. Just trying to save you and anyone else some time. There is not any secret water in this area. Too densely populated and apps like Google Maps make the researching of these that much easier and when they are checked out the person finds the land posted or inaccessible, etc. Sadly it really is that simple. You will find honey holes on open waters, but that is more good old fashioned legwork and time on the water. Any decent body of water around here that is not widely known to be open to fish will be posted no trespassing. It is the world we live in today I am sorry to say.

And it is rules like these which will keep me from ever living in a development like that....lake or not.

I live about one minute away from Brinton Lake and can tell you that even if it was a public lake, it would be a waste. The deepest part is about 4 feet, if that. Evidently the powers that be we're looking into having the lake dredged, but with a cost of over 1 mill, they quickly dropped the idea. Believe me, you aren't missing out on anything there. Muddy, dirty and covered with geese &$*#!

I fish brinton lake all the time, not private at all as long as you are polite and pick up your trash. Nice catfish up to around 25 inches and tons of largemouth. Lots of quality sized largemouth too, biggest ive caught was around 6lbs, had plenty around 4lbs tho
