Spent most of Saturday on Muddy Run Lake, worked the shore from the boat launch north and around to where Muddy Run Creek actually enters the lake. Bass were not biting on anything(I literally bumped one with a spinner and it didn't react). Decent sized Carp and small/medium Catfish were abundant, biting on worms, minnows, and artificial baits. Sunfish and small Perch were all over the shore, hitting anything that came close enough.

I fished it that sunday and struggled. I only managed a pair of 2 lb bass in over 6 hours. I broke down and had to catch a carp to gain some confidence back. I can't help myself when they school up under mulberry trees. They were almost too easy.

Can you guys tell me a little about muddy run? I've been chasing carp around with my fly rod. It's completely sight fishing. Is there a good amount of shallow water to target them? I have a job boat with a trolling motor.

There are several areas that are shallow and flat that would probably be good for you to fly fish with. I've been using my jon boat there as well.

I was there again this past Saturday. Maybe you'll have better luck in a boat, but I pretty much got skunked all day, worked my way from the boat launch south to the dam between the park and pumping station. Few sunnies and some tiny crappie, plus a decent perch. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. Just to many other lakes to try!
For fly fishing carp, I recommend Mill Creek up by Good-And-Plenty.
