Hi taking some kids up to Nockamixon this Sunday and I'd like to put them on some panfish (bluegills, perch or crappie). Keeping them busy catching something so they don't get too bored. I know the lake ok and have caught a few bass here and there but never really got into any good panfish action.
Thanks any help appreciated

I fish the nock all the time never fished there for panfish tho. Have had my friends catch a couple there under fallen trees in the tall bridge cove

If you are coming from 611 it would be the last bridge if you are coming from 313 it would be the first bridge... not the boat ramp bridge... the tall one.. you would need a boat to fish the trees tho

I talked to a couple guys that catch them but I haven't caught myself or seen any caught. Supposedly they are there. If I were to try I'd probably troll some deep diving plugs to locate them or drift live bait like 20 to 25 feet down over the deeper water by the dam. That's where I lots see of bait suspended. I'm going up to Wallenpaupack for a week in Sept. and I'll give the stripers a shot up there. Also want to get out to Raystown once this year. Seems like a tough place to fish but like any lake you have to put your time in I guess.

Had a great day yesterday fishing for panfish... mostly bluegills, a couple perch, 2 nice crappies and a few small LM. Fished back by the tall bridge and all along the various steep cliff faces. Crappies were in the lillys by the ramp. Thanks for the tips!
Saw one guy fishing for stripers in a 18' to 20' boat. He was trolling in the middle of the lake in like 50' plus feet of water. He had down riggers deployed. Went by him later in the day and he was fishing deep again but this time he had this auto jigging machine running. Pretty cool never see anything like it before. The whole day I marked fish and bait in the deeper water. The bait was just above the thermocline and there were bigger marks here and there just above. Did not see him hook up but didn't really hang around that long to check it out.

Sounds like an awesome day on the water, especially at the nock... on a weekend! Lol I fish there all the time never for panfish but that place is a real hit or miss. I think I saw the guy you are talking about, I was fishing from the shore near the rocks with my girl and was watching him hoping to see him catch something but didn't. Im going there tomorrow and will post a report.
