Can anyone verify if there is safe, if any, ice on Marsh Creek and Struble Lakes as of today Tuesday Jan. 7th. This would be helpful info opposed to driving out there for a visual, Thanks.

Was at Stuble today and to my supprise there was several areas of open water still. The wind was blowing quite hard and was keeping half dozen places open.

I was by the Coatesville res., Struble, and Marsh Creek in the AM and still some open water. I still wouldn't trust the ice that's there,at least before Thursday am anyhow.. We may be looking at a couple of weeks at least. Next week, more warm weather. Seems like the ice starts than warmer temps take it out. I'm going to maybe try Thursday and Friday mornings and will post. By the looks of the forecast however, Saturday will be a dud.

I'm going to give it a go this am. I'll try Struble and if the ice sucks than I'll look over Marsh Creek. I know the res. isn't too good as I was by there yesterday.

Saw one guy at Marsh Creek on the long finger on the park side....ice looked a little iffy from afar, but I don't know how thick the ice was where he was standing.

Correct about Hopewell, I was one of those guys. Bluegills are the word and a very few perch. Anyone have any info about Carpenders Cove at Marsh?

Was at Struble today and there were Six guys fishing in the afternoon. Lake is covered, but you need to stay clear of the areas that look clear or black. These are located out about 30 yds from ramp, and in front of the parking lot, about 15 yds out, also out to the right of the dam where the gulls and geese hang out. The reason is, these areas had open water up till yesterday afternoon!! The guys were fishing about 75 yards to the right of the launch ramp, and on the left side (of parking lot), down the lake about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down. Hug the left shoreline to get down there.

That was me on the long finget at Marsh. Ice was 4-5 inches where I was, although I stayed away from the dark areas and don't know the thickness there. There were other holes in the ice so I'm guessing someone was there the evening before. Spent over 2 hrs. fishing and only had two bites, the only fish I marked on my flasher. Also went by the Coatesville res. and no one there. I didn't get out to dig any holes but certain areas of it looked iffy. I may try Struble in the am after work as long as the freezing rain doesn't stop me from going there.
