Well...i just checked struble. Part of the lake still open...the wind is stopping the ice from forming. If wind dies down hopefully good by weekend

Anybody know any lakes near struble that are safe yet? I'm thinking by tomorrow ice should be good. Has anyone checked struble this morning?

There was open water at struble just yesterday so if you go poking around there be very careful. A friend of mine fell through there this year. I haven't heard of any ice yet at my local lakes such as marsh creek or scotts run. I know they have ice up at onalonnie (sp).

I heard about that jigger. Crazy! Glad he's ok. I lived most of my life in Michigan where thin ice isn't around long. Used to drill 3 feet. Not to fond of fishing on 4 but can't give up fishing! Where is onalee?

Went by struble yesterday afternoon and there was more open water than ice. A good chop was on the water due to the wind. Some ice to the right of the boat ramp and some just out in front of the parking lot, but I don't if I w would trust it.
Also took a drive by Marsh Creek and the main lake between Lyndell and the park side is open water. Good chop on the water as well. The cove off of Chalfont road to the left of the swimming rock has ice but not sure how safe.
Looks like I'll be heading to Ontalaunee or Antietam this weekend.
The temps look to stay cold next weekend so hopefully marsh creek and struble are a go by mid week next week.
Be Safe and Stay Warm!! Frank

Just drove by Struble. Looked completely iced over. The far half towards the dam looked like clear ice. The half closer to the ramp was snow covered. Wind shouldn't have any effect on making ice now.
