Have not been there for years, I kinda remember it as weed chocked so I was prepared to deal with massive weeds. DAAA.. no weeds, no structure, no lay downs, truly a farm field with water. I was nailing perch (over 15 ) all morning and a few crappies, but no bass. Then I got wise a started draging a worm out in 6-8 feet of water and got 3 nice LM... the larger was around 2.5 to 3 pounds. I was getting tired of worming so I motored to another area and picked up the crankbait again and within 5 minutes these babies hit. Larger was 5 pounds and the baby was 4 - 8. They musta been cruising around together in the same area cause I hit the second within 2 casts of the first. Pictures on my FB page: www.facebook.com/andy.dangelo

I got there at sunrise and was catching the perch all morning... I kept throwing a crankbait hoping a bass would see it. By the time I switched to worm it was around 8-9 ... then I picked up 3 bass and the 2 larger bass were nailed around 11:00 as I switched back to a crank bait. Nothing makes sense, the larger fish as the sun was higher and they were the shallowest of all the bass I got. Someone mentioned hitting the shoreline with topwater early and I just could not see where any sane bass would go that shallow without any cover or weeds.

AWESOME job and nice pics! I was the one who noted fishing shoreline with Buzzbaits; if your there early enough the fish will be in that shallow water. But it sounds like you had the right method going into that day.....KUDOS to your trip; that is awesome! I typically wouldnt even be out any longer at 11 AM on Struble; bet your glad you stayed.

many years ago I gave up the tournament trail, sold my big glass boat and downsized to an aluminum 17' Tracker, added a rear trolling motor and decided to hit many of the local smaller electric only lakes, this was one trip that was worth it . I talked to a local guy on the water that AM & he mentioned hitting the off shore stumps for bass...we also talked about the algae bloom making the water so dark... anyway that gave me incentive to try again, so I changed bait colors and gave it another round. The area that Frogman mentioned has the tree stumps offshore, the lager fish are still roaming the dam area! BTW the new header pictures on this site, the 2 left picts are me on Blue Marsh...
