I just read the post about the fishing at Marsh Creek being a little more difficult this year and thought to myself; it's certainly been alot different at Hopewell this year as well. I am still catching fish there; but certainly not the same spots I have been for the last few years. In years past it was always consistent; this year it's been way different. Last weekend we caught 4; one was a nice 3-1/2 pounder but the action was very slow overall. The week before we caught 15. I was down there about 4 weeks ago and was skunked for the very first time. Again; I am catching fish there but in all new spots. Has anyone else noticed a change down there this year? I have had to completely change my strategy from years past and have needed to learn some new techniques. Last year all I needed was a pile of Senkos and I tore that lake up; this year......thank goodness I carry alot more than just senkos. The fish just seem to be alot deeper this year.

Glad to hear that advice paid off : ) It was a pleasure talking with you down at Chambers on Saturday; it was nice to meet you. I went to Hopewell on Sunday and managed to pull 5 out of deeper water. The largest was about 2-1/2 and the other 4 were on the small side; but alot of fun anyway. We left the lake by 9:30 though; it was HOT out there on the water. Hopewell was Gin clear this weekend. My question to everyone; where did all the weeds go? Hopewell is notorious for its HUGE milfoil beds.....but they are all but gone; I didnt see any weed beds growing up near the surface. It was nice in the fact that the trolling motor didnt get clogged up but I would imagine the fish were scattered all over the lake without those huge weed beds. I caught all of my Bass in about 12 feet of water on a crankbait on the ledge.
