It was so warm that I took a quick drive up to Hopewell after work. I didn't get there until 6:30 PM. There was only a single boat on the water, and a couple of boats were coming out. There was only one guy fishing from the fishing pier. I only took my UL rig and some mealy worms. I fished from shore to the left of the ramp, over near the turtle sunning spots. I again had a great time catching big bluegills with almost every cast. The lake seemed alive, with fish breaking in areas that I could see. Next time I come up I will bring my boat and get on the water.

Right you are sir! Lake Hopewell has come to life, I put a 6lb LM in the boat at noon, snapped a few photos and returned him with a smile. Got another around an hour later, only 14 or so inches and very thin. Happy 2011 fishing season to all! Tight Lines!

Temp was fluxing between 47-49 degrees, hit a few 50 degree spots in the shallows after the sun broke the clouds for a few hours.

Wow; a 6 pounder; sounds great. I am glad to hear that hopewell is coming alive. I plan on taking the boat down there on Sunday sometime. Hey Tommy P; mind telling me what you were catching them on? I have a game plan for sunday but any help is always welcome.

Slowly fished natural colored jig with creature trailer. And add in that this was my 13th time on the water this year so far, so what I'm gathering is just like everyone says..... more time on the water=more fish in boat. Work hard, fish harder!
