I drove around Saturday and saw one guy fishing rip rap near boat launch. Whole shoreline looks fishable.

I fished octoraro this past saturday using small jigs and came up with nothing. No fish or even bites. The weather seemed good and the water clarity was decent. I used to do really good on this lake a few years back but lately have been skunked more often than not. Can anyone tell me where the "rip rap" is? Is this referring to the spillway and is the spillway fishable? I'm looking to try new areas out in the next coming weeks.

Use to fish at the spillway years ago with my Dad. Caught crappies, gills, and an occasional walleye there. I went there again a few years back and the area was fenced in and tresspassing signs were posted after 9/11. Don't know what it's like now or if you're allowed to fish but back in the day we did well there.

When I refer to rip rap it's simply the rocks all along the roadside spots, so there is no 1 rip rap area.

Thanks for the info. It's a shame they closed the spillway, I have been having good luck up here at a local spillway with crappie and big bluegills. It seems to produce much earlier then the surrounding lake. Oh well, i'll be back at it next week after the water cleans up some.
