Here's what's happening;
*Recent rains have increased water levels in most all local lakes and streams. Chambers lake is back up to full pool level. Marsh Creek is full +, draw down for improvements should start soon. Struble is full level with algae bloom still there. Trout are biting at Scotts Run Lake, water is in excellent condition
*First fall trout stocking has been done in our area to local trout streams. Water levels are good right now.
*E. Brandywine received rainbows in Delayed harvest area
*Pickering Creek received rainbows in delayed harvest area
*Middle branch of White Clay also got rainbows in DH area
*Scotts Run Lake received rainbows. No further winter stockings listed as of now.
Marsh Creek has recently been stocked with white crappie fingerlings. Also channel catfish and tiger muskies fingerlings were scheduled for this past year. Chambers Lake should have received a stocking of channel cats and tiger muskies. Struble lake was to be stocked with walleye and channel cats this year.
Pa Fish & Boat Com. is studying the possibility of trying to restore a shad run in the Lehigh River. Problem is there are four dams that would have to be removed or altered. A study will be done and a recommendation will be made by 2012.
A law suit has been filed, by Earthjustice,to try and curtail the netting of shad and river herring along the eastern seaboard. Suit claims that the commercial fishermen are scooping up millions of these fish (while fishing for Mackerel and sea herring), and has depleted the population by as much as 90 percent since 1985.
Pa Fish and Boat has announced starting Jan 1 2011 certain sections of the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers will have a catch and release regulations go into effect. This is being done due to the declining numbers of Small mouth bass in this part of the river. For more information on the areas effected click here:

Other news:
Pa Game Commission is looking into the possibility of charging a fee for using any of the 29 public gun ranges it owns and maintains. The ranges can now be used for free by anyone who would like to. This practice has led to vandalism and "illicit activities" on the commission owned properties. Consequently this has required more patrols by officers, and more clean up, which all requires more money. The Commission has spent several million dollars over the last five years in upgrades to many of their facilities. Our local range outside of French Creek State park just recently went thru two separate upgrades during the last two years. If things go as planned you will be required to have a current Pa hunting license or purchase a $30.00 annual shooting pass that would be sold thru hunting license dealers, to use the facilities. The earliest this could go into effect would be after the first of the year.
Our local WCO has posted the annual hunting outlook for the 2010-2011 huning season. You can view it here:

Thats all for now folks!
