An ad in 1919 National Sportsman advertised a lure saying "Looks like a bug, feels like a bug, floats like a bug, tastes like a bug". What was it?

I guess no one reads National Sportsman from 1919 but me! lol The answer is Tuttle's Devil Bug made by Orley C Tuttle.

I just threw away my copy. It'd been laying around the house a little too long. LOL. Without google, I'm lost on these things. Tom

Thats been my biggest challenge is to find questions that can't be Googled easily! I've been getting most questions from the collection of old hunting and fishing mags I have (over 500 last count including car mags). Don't throw out those old mags! I sold a Field & Stream 1915 mag for over $75.00 a couple of years ago, and see others bring over $100.00!!

i have like 10 issues of field and stream from the 40's my grandpop gave to me, think they are worth anything, they are in really good shape as they have been sitting in a box for about 60 years

Prices on vintage magazines can be best found on e-bay. Usually in those years they bring from $4.00 to $8.00 ea., depending on condition and content.
