Just because its this at the edge doesnt mean the ice isnt good. I recall fishing with my uncle as a kid walking across a 10' plank to get on the ice. Once on the ice it was plenty thick. I dont think we have to worry about floating away on a sheet of ice like those guys at Erie.

If you think using a plank to get on the ice is worth the risk that's up to you. I'll wait until the ice is gone and then use my boat. JMO

couldn't of been too thick. The spot where I saw guys fishing on wednesday is wide open water now.

The coves are both still frozen does anyone know how many inches of ice we have It is time to catch the big gills if the ice is still safe.
