Have you ever seen a person fishing with a spinning reel upside down, in other words using the reel on top of the rod and reeling backwards? Well there was a company that made a spinning reel, in 1948, that was designed to actually be used that on top of the rod. Who made it and what was it called ?

Nope, remember it was designed to mount on top of the rod, looks just like a modern day spinning reel but on top. Another couple of hints it was made for salt water use. The company also made fishing line in its day.

Ok here is the answer. It was made by Ashaway who also as I said previously was well known for their line. The reel was called "Ashway Surf Slip Caster".
