I took my friend down to catch his first carp and to let him hear his drag scream. About 30 minutes in he had one and it almost spooled him, so I gave him directions on what to do and we got the fish in but it was stuck on a branch. The look on his face was priceless when he had the fish on. So I ended up wading in up to my waiste, to reach out and net it. Good thing there was light out so I could see or I would not have done that and no current in that spot. Fish meant a lot to him because it was his biggest freshwater so far, so I did my best to get it for him. I didn't catch any but we were only there from 8-10 and I caught one earlier at Green Lane so it was all good. Got a pic of his fish. img234.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1000707sc0.jpgI heard there are some big cats in there and I'm hoping to get a nice one sometime soon.

Try going on the opposite side of the river, where the French Creek runs in for Carp, alot more and alot bigger there. Nah all the catfish are small dont waste your time fishing for them in the Schuylkill, especially around Phoenixville

I found another spot closer to my place not to far from there, caught a few 15+ pounders and some channels 20+ inches. Looking for a monster though

shot a couple of huge ones in Marsh Creek a couple of years ago, and 2 buddies have been shooting carp there this year and saw quite a few big ones. Good luck with the carp, and channels, i wouldnt plan on gettin a big channel in the skuke, been fishin it for 15 years and never got one bigger than 25inches, flatheads on the other hand are takin off, the group i fish with has gotten 10 or so over 30lbs, and 2 close to 40lb.

I meant looking for bigger carp - but yeah I wanted to catch some big flatheads also. I have a few friends who fish that quite often and usually do well. Sounds like your buddies are having a lot of success. Everytime I go to Marsh there's always carp jumping, big ones but never bothered to carp fish and probably never will.

Well one of us is fishin pretty much everynight, and we run cat tournaments every other saturday so we get out quite alot. i never see monster carp in the river, but we do shoot some big ones so they are there, if your runnin a boat try goin outta the 113 ramp, there are always a ton of carp up there, and nobody is fishin for them.
