My firend and I are looking for an experience waterfowl hunter to take us to school in the fall. My friend and I are completley new to hunting. We have been doing quite a bit of shooting at the delaware county field and stream and are taking our hunter safety courses later this summer. I would like to hook up with someone who really knows what they are doing to show us the ropes. I have a 16'.5" green tracker jon boat and will be installing a pop up blind on there later this summer. We are looking to get into duck and goose hunting. I have electric motors on the boat as well as a 25 horse mercury so it is pretty much good for anywhere. I would be happy to pay for ammo, lunch gas etc for anyone who would like to teach a copule of 30 year old newbies. Thanks

I was thinking Marsh Creek, Struble, Muddy run, Blue Marsh and some other areas on the Sus. I have read good things about all the spots. I fish Marsh Creek Constantly and in the fall and early winter I see a lot of guys out there for geese. Not sure how they do as I normally get there when they are wrapping up.

yeah its not a bad spot for geese. You will see a lot of different diver ducks you would not normally see on smaller lakes. I saw a canvas back last year sitting out in the middle. They are not common on lakes around here. I just hope this year is better than last. Last year was one of the worst with all that warm weather we had. It screwed up the migration. It was a sad year for ducks and geese. Shot about a quarter of what we did the year before. Two tips I can give you is get a good choke tube! Steel shot sucks but if you have one of these after market tubes like the pattern master you can do all right. Go 2 to 3 sizes bigger with steel than you would lead. example; if # 2 in lead would be a good load for geese with steel you would want BB or BBB to get the same knock down power.
