hey iam curious what types of forage fish are in lake octararo besides the obvious bluegill and perch. speaking of perch are there any yellow perch in there? if so are they in large numbers or pretty rare? thanks for any input!

Lots of gizzard shad in the lake, when it warms up you will see schools and schools of them all over the lake. There are yellow perch in the lake and I have heard of some pretty nice ones being caught but I'm not sure how big of a population there is of them.

het thanks for the info midnite basser iam trying to learn as much as i can about the lake been there a few times but iam not used to fishing deep water iam used to delaware mill ponds 5 to 6 feet deep so iam sucking up as much knowledge as i can about the lake andfishing deeper water

Big John, I don't know if Octoraro is the lake you want to learn deep water fishing on. This reservior is difficult to figure out. I fish it alot because I live up the road from it but I think it is really a hard lake to fish. if you don't do good the first time don't give up. Fish very slow. MikeS
