I was hoping that some of you could provide some help and advice for fishing the lake at Marsh Creek State Park in the winter from the shoreline. I have tried a few times fishing from the shoreline with very little luck. I have tried red worms and wax works on a slip bobber, small spinners, and jig heads tipped with live bait, Gulp minnow, and plastics. Any suggestions on what to use and what type of areas ( shallow, deep, brush, etc...) to target would be greatly appreciated. I have a canoe and a kayak, but am reluctant to used them since the water is so cold so i have been hiking along the shoreline and trying different spots. Only one small yellow perch so far.

A lot of fish are deep this time of year. Not all but a lot. Find some of the deep banks with downed trees and fish in and around those. was just out last sat catching crappies 20 ft from shore out of a tree in 20+ ft of water. GL

Any suggestions for what to use for bait or lures? Maybe jigs for the crappies? Worms for the perch?

This time of year I find some juicy night crawlers work best. Jigs like trout baits work too. I know some like spoons but I've never had any luck with them.
