Wake up before daylight and you can tag along with me ... LOL. I don't generally wade - thought about going in in my shorts a few times but there's that bacteria issue that closes down the beach every summer.. . I would take a couple of trips up while the lake is lowered and walk around the exposed shore checking out areas where you think might be good. There are some "free" mapping sites as well as some that cost that you can find Topo Maps of the lake... I have one of the old originals. Some spots will not be fishable once the lake fills up in April unless you do some bushwhacking. You can not usually wade from point A to point B along the shore due to drop offs. The other issue is boat traffic not only the wakes but guys will pull up on your location and fish it anyway... Yes 1 rod is rigged with a full sized Spook ! I generally fish from 4:30 - 7:00am ish without much bother during the week... there is a mad daybreak rush but then it's calmer till after 7 when the skiers start showing up. I rarely go over on weekends except early spring/late fall. Side note... some of the "remote" parking areas have had issues with vehicle break - ins(haven't heard of any lately) and there is always a chance of encountering a freak.

I ran over yesterday afternoon to see what they were doing... couldn't quite figure it out. I think they added some boulders(right around where the "area closed" arrow points) but other than that didn't see much "work" done.... maybe grading the exposed lakebed going around to the beach area ?

icemole...tx for the response and invite. sounds like a lot of the same issues i’m trying to get away from at marsh creek. maybe some other brothers have some more specific info. either way i’ll likely make a couple recon visits this winter. tx again. much appreciated. stay safe.

I think it is this Sunday that they are placing Christmas trees - check on F/B page - I helped last year. The trees were placed in back of the State Hill cove and up in the Shiedy cove... They should be exposed now. Supposedly they are placing this years trees at different locations. Not sure if I'm helping this year yet.

I was just glad to get my jig back. For as small as he was he hit like a freight train.
OK back on topic. They did place the trees yesterday sadly I did not make it over. There is a video on the Blue Marsh fishing F/B page couldn't figure out how to copy it here LOL.

Wader.... Have you been up to do any recon yet ? It might come up a little with todays rain but they should release it. They generally start filling to summer pool April 1st, depending on rain fall it is usually full by mid April.

so i was able to recon on easter sunday all along the shoreline by the state hill launch. looked pretty promising but very stained. is it always that stained? next recon will be over on the palisades side or possibly the sheidy launch area.

Stained as in green or just muddy? It does get green pretty quick but seems a bit early. *Usually up the lake in the No Wake it's worse*. I plan on heading over there this week one day. I was over at Dry Brooks ramp Wednesday morning water wasn't too bad. I was a bit underdressed and got chilly so didn't give it my best effort. I did spook something along the shore headed up to the point - thinking a catfish it was tight to the bank.
The Dry Brooks Day Use area(beach + picnic) is closed for paving work.... Dry Brooks Ramp is open - not a lot to explore. The cove and out to the point can't walk much past the point with the lake at full pool. The far side of the cove is pretty barren once you get past the new rocks.... The shoreline in front of the Day Use Area is kind of like big concrete tiles to prevent erosion
