So I recently purchased a Rapala Husky Jerk but I feel as though it is too small And light to catch anything. The measurements are 3 1/8 and the weight is 1/4th oz. Should I get a bigger heavier size. Or just put a sinker or weight on it. Also can I even catch any Largemouth, or for that matter any fish on this?

It will catch most anything that swims... that size is more geared towards perch, crappie and trout BUT a bass or musky may chomp on it as well. Most guys tossing that type of lure for bass will opt for a larger 4.5-6" size, 6" and up for musky. Weights vary according to what it is made from(wood/plastic)and if it has rattles or internal weights. Also some are "suspending" there are 2 types here some sink slowly to the bottom, others "hover" at their diving depth much longer. The same lure in the "floating" model generally pops back to the surface pretty quick if you stop the retrieve.

Do you know if Gordon’s has any similar Jerk bait in the size you suggested for Bass?

I can't help with that... I'm N. of Reading... only been in a few times over the years when I had jobsites in the area. I would think they have some but might be picked over pretty good this time of year. Most smaller shops stock up in the early spring unless it is an item they sell a lot of throughout the year.

My store up here is known for not having "stock" especially in the "off seasons". That and the fact that they are paying anti gun lobbists to push for more gun control stops me from spending any money there.

I think Dick's stop carried fishing stuff months ago. You can find just about anything you want online at Tackle Warehouse.
