First visit today this year , again weather had a lot to do with it , very happy with results landed about 6 bass mostly in 18 to 20 inch range and 2 bigger fish, and lost about 5 ? mainly do to the wind and lillys that are getting thick ( no I don't target spawning beds ) they are empty anyway. Fish are there spend the time and find them Great day

I never made it over crappie hunting for the same weather reasons ... LOL. Ordered new breathable waders hoping they allow me to get back in the game. Had neoprene but between me putting on weight and the "compression" factor made it hard to breath with my COPD. They were also A LOT "skinnier" than my last pair(cost cutting measures I guess).

Well made it out this morning to "test" the new waders... Waders nice and comfy but sadly it still is hard for me to walk that half mile without a lot of stops to catch my breath. due to all those stops I didn't "fish" till it was past dawn(6 ish) so don't know if there was an earlier bite. On the left side of "spot A" no signs of life on the shallow flats or along the edge of the weedbed.... no minnies, panfish, or even spawning carp. Did have a snapper lazily float on by about 30yrds out but he didn't seem like he was hunting for food. About 7:30 I moved to the right side of the weedbed and saw some life - guessing a school of small panfish taking bugs off the top near the weeds and over near the drop-off looked like minnies worrying the water. I kind of think they may have been bass fry the more I think about it though.
Worked both areas over pretty good with topwaters, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and a worm. Did not find any other grass besides just at the weedbed(normally find submerged grass out deeper). Finally got bit on the worm 20'passed the drop-off .... a lot of effort for a 12" bass... LOL

Nope... that's "spot C".. No drop-off just a rock pile there(well near the weedbeds anyway). If the weather holds tomorrow I might try that new area near the Meeting House.... also depends on how I feel... I've been "out" this morning - Dr's appointment, Farmers Market + grocery store... hope my mask saved me.
