Truck came about 2:45 Pm. Off loaded 3 compartments, about 500 to 600 average trout. Didn't see any 20"+ ones. All put in by tube. Turnout was lighter then normal, about 16 people fishing. The Rainbow & Brook trout were being caught when i left at 4pm.

May 28, 2019 around 11 am.
Fished about an hour at Scotts Run Lake. No one there fishing.Caught a trout with a pheasant tail nymph. Used Spinning rod with a bubble. Two bluegills liked the nymph also.
Then tried a 3/8 oz Kastmaster. Nothing.
Always good to get outside.

I don't fly fish but I found a box of flies in the creek so I kept them in my vest and sometimes when the fish just don't seem to want to take anything else I'll put a fly on my spinning gear. Certainly doesn't cast like it would on a fly rod but it gets out there far enough to fool a fish or two.

People have been fishing flies under a clear plastic casting float at Scott's Run for as long as I can remember and I'm a geezer. Some of them are capable of tweaking the weight and flotation by adding water. Just saying...

it just seems very odd to me as someone that fly fishes. but hey have at it. And yet Fly Fishers have no issue using a bobber --- aka strike indicator There are places where it is not possible to cast a fly using a fly rod... such as a bushy shore when fishing a lake from the bank.

Did I read that right, you are using flies on a spinning rod? would love to see this The bubble FT-304 weight can be adjusted by how much water is placed in it. Bubble may weight as much as 3/4 oz , on land. When in the water, it becomes a lot lighter. Bubble I use 6 lb line and a 7 foot long 2 lb leader. Works well with a spinning rod & fly.
