I'm going to search for some holdover between Kerr Park and Dowlin Forge Road. I know it's an extreme long shot but I just want to get my technique down before the fall stocking. If I can't find any I'll try for some small mouth too.
I know its catch and release with artificial bait and lures above Dowlin Forge Road. Below Dowlin Forge Road though I believe you can keep three but it's only allowed on artificial. Am I interpreting this correctly? Also is powerbait allowed below Dowlin Forge Road?
Last question; cross my heart... I've heard certain sections of the Brandywine hold Catfish. If this is the case anyone willing to let me know where?
Thanks!!!!

Most years you can find hold overs above Downingtown all the way to Glenmoore. This year I bet there will be lots of holdovers with all the rain, but I have not been since spring.
I've never seen catfish but wouldn't be surprised. I've caught many small mouth and I know someone who got a walleye bellow marsh Creek 15+ years ago.

Wow walleye would be amazing. I knew there were some in the Schuylkill by the Art Museum but not in the Brandywine. The ones in the city are limited but are making a comeback.
Thanks for the info!

Thanks!!!! No, the harvest time in the special regulation section is from June 15th thru labor Day. No harvest after Labor Day and only artificial lures or flies allowed to be fished. Hey, why not C&R the fish and have fun fishing another day or let others have fun catching them. The water will be cool enough for trout right through next year and the section will be stocked in October for fall and winter fishing.

Thanks for clearing that up. Catch and release is definitely the way to go. Would have been nice to take one home though.

Years ago we used to catch some catfish in the Brandywine at Stroud's Preserve. We used to go at night and use some canned corn, never got anything huge but it was fun. I don't think you're allowed to be back there at night anymore though, I think it's gated off now.

Thank you for the catfish tip!
I had a great day fishing last Saturday. Didn't find any hold over trout but I did have a blast with 23 fish caught and released consisting of red breast sunfish, small Mouth Bass, and Rock Bass.
Stepped up my trout magnet game and feel really good about my technique.
Thanks again for the advice and clarifications!

If you walk the path downstream you will come across a red bridge. Cross over the bridge near the police station and continue the path until you reach a big stone bridge. I think this is the deepest hole in the creek. There are bullheads and eels living in there. I catch them on chicken liver.
