Any idea what they are doing ? They're working on replacing and repointing the rocks along the dam and the chase where the water flows down towards Hopewell. They're also supposed to work on the concrete pillar that is on the dam that contains the mechanism to control the flow of the water.

Do the banks stay muddy while this is going on? If banks harden up seems like it would awesome shore fishing with all the fish congested. The last time they did a drawdown here the banks definitely did not harden up enough to walk on. I got pretty muddy just testing it and saw quite a few shoes and boots stuck in there. Should still be able to walk on the dam but that might be pretty slippery with algae if they don't just block it off for the construction.

On facebook Sept 8 "The 6' drawdown on Scotts Run Lake has commenced. The lake is being drawn down to perform maintenance and repairs on the dam breast, spillway and control tower. If you have a boat moored at Scotts Run, we advise you to remove asap before it is sitting in the mud and more difficult to remove. The work being performed is long overdue and will have a long-term, positive impact on the lake and the natural resources. Thank you for your patience, cooperation and respect to workers."
No stocking Oct 16th.
From French Creek State Park on Facebook- "the lake (Scotts Run Lake) is not being stocked this season due to the draw down, but fishing will still be permitted"

Link to Youtube Video Stopped by Scotts Run Lake early this morning, Oct 10, 2018. The water level is a lot lower now. Lots of fog and biting insects and flies. Lots of weeds around. Fishing from the dam should work, if its not to slippery?? Maybe a few trout left over? But i think i will wait till March/April rolls around in the spring.

To clarify, this means that there will no stocked trout in Scotts Run Lake on opening day of trout season, so those who were planning to fish there should find alternate plans. Please note, we have not removed Scotts Run from the in-season stocking schedule yet (4/29/19), as we hope the conditions will improve by that point. From Pa. fish Comm. Link

The guys on Berks Outdoors mentioned that it would not get the "pre-season" stocking. Didn't mention anything about the "in-season" stocking. They did mention that the trout that were to be stocked down there would be dumped in Kearcher.
