Does anybody know the full list of the fish species in Chambers Lake? I’m thinking of maybe try it out for the first time.

sure thing... and for the record, I've never seen a smallmouth caught out of there in the 10 years or so I've been fishing there, but people claim they are still in there.

yeah, haven't caught any this year, but they usually aren't hard to catch. They're more active in the spring and fall when the water is cooler. I've caught them on poppers, crankbaits, swimbaits... pretty much any moving bait.

According to the stocking list you can add musky too. I've mentioned a few times to the PGC + DNRC that they should "update" there fish lists for various lakes. I have a 70's era PFBC handout - SE. PA. lakes. Nice little thing to have but half the fish listed are no longer stocked at most of those lakes !

The last smallmouth I saw come out of that lake was a 17" roughly 3 pounder. Caught and released by my dad while we were night fishing about 15 years ago. They were initially stocked when the lake was created, but for all intent and purpose you can say they have been extirpated. I used to catch rock bass in there too but that was many years ago as well. It seems that rock bass and smallmouth generally go hand in hand. The lake has probably silted in too much for suitable habitat and not enough dissolved oxygen in the heat of the summer for those species.

I caught a musky last summer. Was only 12-15 inches and it was a surprise to me that it was in there. Got it off the stumps on a ned rig.

Biggest pickerel I caught out of there was decent size.. a little above 24" probably.
There are musky in there for sure, I caught one a couple years ago. It was a pure and it was big. I dont think there are many, but I believe there is a small population that reproduces.

you sure they are musky and not big pickerel? I've seen people confuse the two fish before.

Absolutely certain. Caught many of both species. Heard an unsubstantiated story recently of a stocking truck that had musky remaining from a scheduled load that got permission to drop the left overs at Chambers. Supposed to have happened within the last year or so.

Too bad they don't stock walleye here. All that deep water and big rocks seems perfect. Hate to have to travel all the way to the Susky for decent walleye fishing. Would also be the only lake you can Target them from shore. Even though struble gets a lot they don't maintain the shoreline so you pretty much need a boat
