Fished near the boat ramp . The rip rap along spruce Grove, ( couldn't fish the spruce Grove road bridge CLOSED for repairs) and by the parking spot off 472. 3 hours ONE bite! Minnow's under a slip bobber, small jigs . Nada. Saw a few others fishing nothing for them either. In the spot off of 472 ,I saw 2 dead SHAD floating both about 12 inches a piece. Jim at the tackle shop said the crappie fishing has been good lately. Not today. Still enjoyed just being on the water the Octorara is a beautiful place.

Haven't been to Chambers yet this year but hopefully I will soon. I don't really know where to fish at there. Been wanting to get to the resevior too. Caught ALOT of crappie on a couple trips there last year but they were all 5-7 inches.

Crappie should be in spawn mode any day now in Chambers. Literally you can try as far as you feel like walking from the big rock to the left of the boat ramp all the way to the large rock pile on the other side of the lake. Last year by April 15 we were catching crappie off nest. We could see them. Haven't seen them yet this year. For those wondering we didn't Target males on beds but you could see them come out of deeper water and hit jigs

Ok thanks. Few times I went up there last year I fished to the right of the dock no crappie but a few NICE largemouths . I always catch bass on minnow's when fishing a lake. But I never target them.think I may try to hit Chambers tomorrow.
