Spent several hours trying to get a wild brook trout to take my fly in a tributary of pine to no avail. I went down to pine and caught about a dozen small smallmouths on damsel fly patterns.
No wild Pennsylvanians, but the smallmouths were fun.

Nice job with plan "B" ... Don't know how bad that area got hit by last years drought but some of the little Brookie creeks all but dried up last summer. I talk to a guy who fishes native almost exclusively and some of his spots are devoid of fish over long stretches.
