congrats to you and the boy on a good day on the lake, buddy and I went out Saturday for a few hours and got over 30 crappie, got them on plastics 2-3 feet down drifting the breeze. was out thursday also and pulled in around 15. Surprised the bite is still as good as it is with the water temp at 85.

definitely a GREAT day for you and the boy - excellent memories!!!
i finally got out to the lake last week, but did not do so well. i spent most of the first hour+ looking for a trail around the left side of the lake (looking out from the parking lot) - i'm still new to this lake. then i worked my way around the right side and settled in on that huge flats area, but no luck, bass or panfish. i did see what i thought were a couple carp - nice size, maybe 5 lbs.
if there's a way around the left side, i didn't find it. anybody?

You have to walk up Morgantown road back toward chestnut tree road until you see a yellow gate across a road. That will be your trail. The grass may be high this time of year but shouldn't be any briars or brush to fight really

We were fishing the bottom of the water column because that's where they were lighting up my sonar. Water temp was 83 when we got to the lake, up to 86.5 when we left. They but pretty much all day but best when the wind was blowing. I agree pretty wild they are biting so well.
