I have been seeing clams in the lake. Does anyone know if they live there? Seems strange to me. Was out today couple of nice bass and a 15' perch what a nice looking fish. Hope someone can figure this clam thing out.

Thanks. I guess stranger things happen. That many makes me think that they might make a good bait. Going try that I'l let you know what happens.

Come to think of it they would probably make very good yellow perch bait. Might have to try that this fall

Very interesting article icemole. Definitely mussles cuz it's a man made lake specifically for water supply. Definitely not endangered I saw a few in the spring crappie fishing near the dam. If that water drops during the fall I'm trying bottom fishing with them

Should work way back when they stocked the hybrids in Ontelaunee we tried hanging chicken livers on tip-ups. We kept getting hits but missing the fish, finally hooked a couple. They were 2-4" perch must have dropped right on a school of the little guys. Most of them just couldn't get our 1/0 hooks in their mouths
Back in the 80's we used to grab a couple of dozen out of the upper Delaware while shad fishing. The smaller ones weren't bad but they got pretty tuff as they got bigger. They banned getting them over there maybe around the mid 90's - didn't realize they closed them state wide till I looked.

We had customers who used to fish Coniwingo(?) dam for cats and they told us about getting stripers on them, so we started trying them at Blue Marsh no monsters but we caught some. Pretty popular method nowadays plus you do get cats. Haven't tried them for perch really but it seemed like those little ones liked it that day ... LOL
