Not being a trout fisherman I decided on some Bass fishing on Saturday. I really didn't feel like fighting the winds out in the boat so I decided to try a little pond fishing. I headed out around 9:00 AM and stayed for about an hour and a half with only one Bass to my credit. Once I got home the Wife and I went out for a nice lunch and upon arriving home I thought I would head back out for a little and give it another shot. In the additional 60 minutes that I was out I caught another 6 Bass plus lost two on the way in. I found the Bass this time stacked up in a small weedbed in about 3-4 feet of water. I decided on fishing Chambers on Sunday but after a major fail at the ramp I packed right up; went home and headed to the pond instead. Yesterday wasn't as kind; I only caught 2 Bass and had another 3 throw the hook on me. But for my first Bass fishing trips of 2017 I am up to 9 Bass so far. Not bad for about 4 hours of total fishing time. I am so used to fishing all of these small finesse baits that when fishing something a little bigger I need to remember to actually set the hook, HAHA! All bass were on the small side and measured between 12-14".

Sounds like a great weekend and an awesome first couple fishing trips of '17! Tried Lake Sanatoga (basically a pond) for the first time on Sunday but got blanked.
