Spent the morning out on Chambers on 10/6; the lake was producing well. The water level is certainly down a bit (probably 3-4 ft.) but I was still able to get the boat in fairly easily. The lake was on fire that morning; between BowlerX and I we boated 15 bass with the largest just shy of 4 pounds. But the big surprise were the Pickerel; they were hitting well. We caught a total of 4 of the toothy critters with the smallest coming in at 22". We didn't measure the two largest but we guessed them somewhere around 25" or better. Nothing like fishing small finesse baits and latching on to monster Pickerel. This lake just keeps getting better and better. The water temps have certainly cooled way down and the fish are biting. There's a ton of cover left high and dry right now but there's plenty of cover left under the water for the Bass to cling to.
I also went out to Chambers on 10/4 and caught 10 more on the 3-1/2 hours I spent on the lake. The wind kicked up pretty good that day but the Bass were again biting well.

That sounds like a good day on the water. I have yet to get a pickerel out of there, but have had a few nights with double digits bass. All on top water too on a fly rod.

Very sad about the Gent that drowned a few weeks ago. Say prayers and wear your PFD.
